TALK SHOW HOST
Summary:
Veterans Radio Indiana is seeking a volunteer that is highly
motivated, opinionated and knowledgeable about various topics on veterans and
veteran's issues.
Responsibilities:
Your primary
responsibility is to interview guests, read news stories as it pertains to
veterans. You will also read sponsor or donor promotions and public
service announcements and conduct necessary technical duties and produce an overall
public presentation of our organization’s network.
Logistics:
The show will be pre-recorded, then uploaded on a not yet determined
time slot on an internet station that caters to Country, Classic Rock and
Rockabilly enthusiasts. These shows will
be anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes per week with video in the near future.
Social Media:
Veterans Radio Indiana has a new but growing and active Facebook
page with a Twitter account in the works. The website is currently being hit
with views on a daily basis as it is also growing with news and photo
submissions. This show has the social media backing of several Facebook Pages, YouTube channels and Twitter accounts that reach over 1,000,000 followers.
Radio Host:
This is a totally volunteer position and you must have a desire for helping our veterans. A good audible speaking voice is needed. Must be current military or ex military with a
discharge under honorable conditions, no exceptions. If ex military then you must furnish proof of discharge such as a DD-214 or other documents. You will be furnished with a desk in our office area with a
veteran related backdrop.
Location:
The radio show will be recorded at our office located on
Main Street in Beech Grove, Indiana. Beech Grove, Indiana is a quaint area that is Southeast of Indianapolis, Indiana. Our office is conveniently located off I-465 at the Emerson Avenue exit.
Equipment:
We have the following equipment already in place: Computer, Microphone,
Speakers and a Webcam for future video. Secure high speed internet with Ethernet is furnished along with encrypted WiFi. We
are not able to do remotes at this time.
Compensation:
This is a 100% volunteer position as our organization has no
paid staff. Coffee is furnished along with various soft drinks, snacks and purified water.
About Veterans Radio Indiana:
We are a new radio show for veterans, about veterans and by
veterans. We are totally self-funded by donations from our main organization's
veteran program that is called "Bikers Helping Veterans.
About Bikersinc:
Bikersinc was started by a veteran with a passion for helping others. It is a State and Federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization currently operating out of Beech Grove, Indiana. With no paid staff, individual donations go directly to the programs that donors specify with a separate funding source for building upkeep and other essentials.
